Standing Together’s director, David Landau, was recently in the NY area, where it was over 100 degrees F all week. This heat gave David even more resolve to complete his mission, raising funds for cold treats for our soldiers. The young men and women protecting Israel during the summer have a very difficult challenge. Not only are they risking their lives to protect the Jewish homeland from our enemies but they must protect themselves from heat exhaustion, sun stroke and other heat related ailments. The soldiers are in uniform, wear additional gear, carry heavy weaponry and stand in the hot sun. Standing Together and our volunteers are dedicated to cooling these soldiers down. We travel all over Israel bringing cold drinks, ices and ice cream to offer some small relief from the intense heat.
