This Purim was a tremendous success. Standing Together and our volunteers gave out almost 1000 Purim packages to soldiers in and around Chevron and the Cave of Machpela. Hundreds of donors from all over the world gave generously to let our soldiers know that we love and appreciate them. Especially during holiday times, we know that it is difficult for our soldiers to be far away from home and family.
This year, the packages were prepared by some very special volunteers. A group of developmentally disabled adults in the Chevron region prepared the packages, giving them a tremendous sense of accomplishment and achievement because they were part of such an important project.
In addition to the Purim holiday celebration, our visits to the soldiers had the extra energy and enjoyment of celebrating Bar Mitzvahs of 4 different young men and their families from the US. The soldiers are always excited to be included in such important milestone celebrations as it proves to them what an important role they play in the lives of these young men.
