Chanukah 2012

Over the 8 days of Chanukah, about 35 volunteers helped Standing Together’s Director, David Landau, prepare approximately 8000 fresh hot mini donuts for close to 2000 soldiers.  The donut mobile traveled to 7 different army bases,
in different parts of Israel making the holiday special for the soldiers on duty who did not get home to celebrate with their families. At every base we visited, soldiers were thrilled to be able to take a short break and enjoy the holiday.  In Israel, the whole country celebrates Chanukah by eating fried donuts and our modern day Macabees deserve nothing less than the freshest.   As always, it was hard to tell who enjoyed the special Chanukah parties more, the soldiers or the volunteers.   Go to the photo gallery and look at the great pictures.
