Hi, we’re the 8219th, a reserve combat engineering battalion, part of the 551st Paratrooper Brigade. In February we finished a 120-day round in Gaza with many accomplishments as well as several unfortunate losses, and now we were called again to another round up in the North as an active part of the ongoing fighting in Lebanon.

Things are pretty intense here, and the weather is getting seriously cold this time of the year, especially at night. Our missions require us to carry lots of heavy equipment across large distances. The standard Army sleeping bags we’re equipped with are heavy, big and clunky, therefore we are looking for assistance with purchasing sleeping bags that will both protect us against the Lebanese winter and will also be light and small enough to carry it for long distances.
We contacted a supplier who’s willing to sell us, almost at cost, sleeping bags which will be both warm enough and easy to carry. For that, we are looking to raise 37K NIS ($10,000), any assistance that will get us closer to our target will go beyond our appreciation and gratitude.
